CT Test Set (30 KA)

The CT Test Set (30 KA) can conduct on-site bus-type generator and current transformer testing, which are rated at 10-50kA. The indirect CT testing determines ratio and angle errors by comparing one test point. The other test point errors are tallied from CT running idle voltage-current curve with an open primary winding. The CT Test Set (30 KA) includes CT Test Set 5kA and CT VCC Converter.

Steps :

• Determining ratio and angle error of the instrument-class current transformer (ICT) under test according to a standard test pro¬cedure, e.g. at a 20% of nominal current value.
• Constructing a Voltage-Current curve for ICT-under-test secondary winding throughout the whole current operating range from 01 to 120%.
• Determining the values of ICT errors from the Voltage-Current characteristics with consideration for the systematic error introduced into the ICT errors by transformer core material.
